I am sure that most of you have known about this trick but maybe somebody haven’t yet. When we run an internet browser, we will see many icons on the upper screen or known as Tool button.
These tools look neat and orderly in rows. The rows of these tools are known as toolbar. The question is how often do you usually use those tools on the toolbar? Maybe some are rarely used or never.
You probably do not care about those buttons whereas with those buttons on the toolbar, will influence and burden you computer in loading. Therefore, if you never use some buttons on the toolbar, you had better deactivate them on the toolbar of your internet browser.
Now can we deactivate or remove the tools? Yes, we can. For more clear, I’d like to say completely that you can remove the unnecessary toolbar and you can remove some tools on a toolbar or on the contrary, you can add some tools that you feel useful.
You can do it easily as the following steps:
Removing Toolbar:
- Click View Menu, then choose Toolbars
- Remove the sign tick by clicking on the toolbar you want it to disappear.
- One row of toolbar has been removed.
- Done
The above way is to remove a row of tools on one toolbar, if you want to remove only one or some tools on one toolbar, then you will do the different way.
Removing Tools Button
- Click View menu, then choose Toolbars and click Customize…
- You can do another way to choose Customize…, point your mouse over a toolbar then right click and the options will appear then choose Customize…, the result will the same.
- After you click Customize…, a new window with buttons as the content will appear then we call it Customize Toolbar window.
-
Point your mouse to the tool buttons you want to remove, then hold and drag into Customize Toolbar window and drop there, thus the tool button on the toolbar will disappear.
-
Repeat on the buttons that you want to remove including Search Tool (search box), Activity indicator and the others that you feel unnecessary.
-
Done
The above way is to reduce or remove the tools that you feel unnecessary. In the contrary, if you want to add one or some tools that you feel useful for you but not installed yet, you can add them. The way is the opposite of the above way as follow.
Adding Tool Button
- Click View menu, then choose Toolbars then click Customize…
- You can do another way to choose Customize…, point your mouse over a toolbar then right click and the options will appear then click Customize, the result will be the same.
- After you click Customize…, a new window with buttons as the content will appears then we call it Customize Toolbar window.
- Look at the buttons in the Customize Toolbar window, which buttons you want to add.
- Click on the button you want to add, hold and drag to the toolbar
- Repeat to other buttons that you want to add.
- Done
The above ways are for Firefox browser, for other browsers will have the same or similar ways.
In additional to that, you can apply the above ways for Microsoft Office such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and the others.
The last note that the less toolbars or tool buttons displayed, your browser will run or load faster, and in the contrary, the more toolbars or tool buttons displayed will reduce browser’s loading speed.
I hope it will be useful for you.
