In my previous posting, I introduced free offline blogging tool called Windows Live Writer. It seems that many readers who are interested in using it but some of them get problems and difficulties in using it. Some readers have sent me the following questions;
· Is Windows Live Writer (WLW) used in one blog only?
· Some readers also can’t install the tools into their computers because they have to update first.
As usual, Kang Rohman will answer the questions from the readers by posting it this blog. Kang Rohman just hopes that the answers can also be known and read by others readers. So, it will be useful for them too, especially those who may have the same problems.
Ok, let’s start the questions and answers session about Windows Live Writer (WLW):
Question
I can’t install Windows Live Writer (WLW) because there is an order that I must update.
Answer
The answer could be right or wrong. Before installing WLW into your computer, we usually have to install Microsoft .NET Framework. And if it is the problem, you can install Microsoft .NET Framework in their website freely. Click here if you want to download. Microsoft .NET Framework. After downloading it, please install it into your computer. When Microsoft .NET Framework is already installed, now you can install WLW again. I hope it works.
Question
How can I set Blog Account in WLW?
Answer
If you are still confused to set your blog account in WLW, just follow the steps below:
- Please open your Windows Live Writer
- Look at the top of the website. You can see some menus. Click Weblog, after that click Add Weblog Account in option menu.
- After that you will see the picture below;

Because we use blogger, please give a check or mark in the radio button next to “Another weblog service”. After that click Next > button

Then , you will see the picture below;

There are some forms that you have to fill. Write your blog URL address in under “Weblog Homepage URL”. For example: http://kolom-tutorial.blogspot.com. Write your username for that account (username that you always use for your blog) under Username, for example; rohman_tea@gmail.com. Write password (password that you usually in your blog) under Password, example: ojedbelek. Give mark in the small box next to save my password. Click Next >. After that, you will see the following picture to show that your account is in process.

Then, you will see the picture below. Click “Yes” to continue.

After all process finish, you will see the below picture.

Click finish and you can start WLW now.
Question
Is WLW used for only one blog?
Answer
WLW can be used for many blogs. How can I do that? Simple, just do the setting as I explain above, and please use the URL address of blog you want to use. If you have set for some blogs. Click Weblog menu on the above menu bar and you will see the blog titles that you have set before. Below is the sample of WLW pictures that have been set for some blogs.
In the picture, you see the blogs, that have been set in WLW before, are represented with the blog titles. To choose the blog which is connected to WLW is by giving a mark or a check next to the blog title. And to move the blog that will add the posting, just click the blog title.
For additional, WLW isn’t only used for blogger but also for other flat form (e.g. Wordpress)

How can I use WLW?
Answer
To use WLW, please open WLW and then choose Weblog menu. After that choose which blog that you want to add the posting. Click File menu, then choose New Post. Please make an article for your blog in the available box. Click “publish” and see the result.
